Alexander Fortenko, MD
Dr. Alexander Fortenko is an assistant professor of clinical emergency medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. He currently serves as the Director of Clinical Innovation in the Department of Emergency Medicine. In his current role, Dr. Fortenko oversees the operations and strategy for the Departments various virtual care initiatives, including Virtual Urgent Care, ExpressCare and Community TeleParamedicine. Dr. Fortenko also leads Innovation within the Center for Virtual Care. In that role, Dr. Fortenko is creating a pipeline for novel early-stage innovators to partner with Weill Cornell Medicine through research design and execution, clinical pilots and academic publications. In addition, Dr. Fortenko serves as the Medical Director for NewYork-Presbyterian's Hospital at Home program.
Dr. Fortenko graduated from George Washington University School of Medicine with a degree in medicine. He completed residency training at NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia/Cornell Residency program where he served as Chief Resident during his final year.
